So what if they don't make many games anymore. Valve i still the best video game company for making an amazing platform like Steam, with wonderful anti-cheat and the best free to play system for their games. They might not make many games anymore, but they still provide us with a stable platform and way to esily access hundreds of thousands of games without installing a million different clients and launchers.

Be grateful that PC gaming has actually been stabilized thanks to Valve. True gamers remember the days when all servers were trash and no communities could bloom because it was too hard to find people.

developer turnover is the percentage of staff that changes during development. its about 35% in the regular IT/software industry. its 90% across the board in games development. most companies only retain senior staff and artists. since you can put those on work at all times. many times theres just no need for developers. for example if an engine is done being developed who needs an engine developer. being a jack of all trades doesnt help you either since the industry wants specialists. theyre not gonna put a gameplay programmer into webdev just because he can do it. they want one person who does one thing better than someone else.
