I wanted to have fun with it too. A survival game with MGSV gameplay mechanics is a match in heaven.

My problem is the co op they are shoving in the game. You know the game will be built around co op. They say you can play it alone, but it is clear that, not only you will have a lot of content locked behind multiplayer but the game won't be balanced for solo play

Open world zombie games are great, state of decay is amazing and I wish Survive was going to be more like it, and if it is, I will love it.
But the co op is going to ruin it.

Doesn't bother me. Phantom Pain had time locked content for some upgrades. I'd rather spend that time playing the game other than being limited by hard locked shit.

Most of the fun of them is the skinner box leveling / upgrading bullshit and, I don't know about you, but I don't want to do that again next time I play the game. If I were to replay MGSV, I'm not going to waste anytime fultoning anything and I feel certain it's going to be a trudge going from place to place, waiting for the helicopter to land and pick me up at the end of the mission. I just don't want to do that again.

I'd rather replay MGS1, 2 or 3 that I could pick up and beat in about 5 hours (skimming through codec dialogue that I don't want to hear again)

That's the problem with open world design, the skill ceiling is extremely low. There's not much you can do to skip the "progression", in fact these games are designed to be beaten strictly through out-stating everything.

Yeah, because they get repetitive really fast. Plus, I believe that the replay value of something like MGS3 for example, lies nearly entirely in the reactive world, level design and codec. So, pretty much things that V doesn't have.
