Final villain, Clear Note shows up, shit gets real and various stuff happens throughout the first half of that arc. Gash/Zatch, Tio/Tia, Kanchome, Umagon/Ponygon and Brago all train to beat him. Tio, Kanchome, and Umagon all get their book burnt after the training en route to the final fight.

Gash and Brago engage Clear, fights to a standstill, villian unleashes his true final form to beat them. Suddenly, the spirits of all of Gash's previous friends whose books got burnt appear and absolutely rekt clear with the ultimate final versions of their spells if they had unlocked them in like a 2 chapter long nonstop beatdown of hugeass spells being fired off. Clear gets assmad and goes into space to blow up the planet.

Gash rockets up to space using Umagon's final spell, and unleashes a planet sized Bao Zakeruga powered up by the will of every other demon/mamado to funish clear off. Clear gets defeated.

Gash and Brago agree to have a final battle in a few weeks after Kiyo graduates from middle school, during the graduation ceremoney, it hits both kiyo and gash that after their fight with brago, they'll never see each other again. They break down crying. Fast foward to the fight with brago, and Gash wins, with Brago finally admitting to sherry that she was a good partner and he was being a stuck up ass the entire time. Gash vanishes back to the demon world, you see him be crowned king, and every book owner gets a letter from their partner and Gash's is the final epilogue.

Too bad the final fight was rushed, I think he might've had a deadline or something because while Clear Note was a super big bad guy, the final fight between the last two Demon Children is kind of super duper fucking important.
Then he goes and draws a view of the mountain and just spells firing everywhere instead.
That said I love the manga so fucking much that it's literally the only series I'll ever write fanfiction for. Making my own demons and spells is just fun as shit.

Also Cherish is one of the best demons along with Zaruchimu - the fact she was able to literally deflect all of Jauro Zakeruga, a spell Zeon outright called OVERKILL against her while still freeing everyone from the pillars and then giving smug anime girl.jpg to Zeon while saying "You poor boy." was divine

Also literally the only reason Kiyomaru and Gash won was because he was using the Answer-Talker(which Sherry didn't even know he had!) - Brago and Sherry's battle sense was way better than both of theirs, and even with the Answer-Talker Kiyomaru even said he was only able to -barely- squeak by, without it they would've been trashed even with OP MC spell Baou Zakeruga
