Because three short stories didn't give the characters much development room. Terra repetitively sees the consequence of darkness and falls for it anyway. Ventus knows he shouldn't fight Vanites and does it anyway and delivers the X-blade to Xehanort on a platter. Aqua is way too passive with her friends bullshit and only manages to do anything when it's too late such as saving Terranort and indirectly causing all the bullshit that happens to Radiant Garden. We even find out Eraqus has every reason to doubt Xehanort but still gives him every inch of room to do his obviously evil shit.

Combat system promotes spamming cheap abilities rather than making creative combos.

None of the minigames are fun.

naw it has the exact same personality since as the rest since nerds like the familiar feeling of brand name they know so the keep it as similar as possible since nips and weebs seem super averse to change or even soemthing midly different.
