The first one was the best because it had a plot unlike 2, didn't have a retard story like 3 and at the end you had hope for the serie futur.

Not saying that ME1 and ME2 are on the same level but both games have different strengths and weaknesses and they end up evening out.

For all the shit ME3 gets I still think it had some of the best character moments of the trilogy.

And it's still the only game I can think of that has divergent character arcs that manage to have some payoff after three whole games.

ME3 was so bad that I had no interest in buying ME:A, worried it'd also be bad. In the end, I was right, but if ME3 had been good, I would have likely spent money on ME:A, and I assume many others would have too.

When it comes to big name sequels, you can often track how bad they are depending on how disappointing the sales of the next game are.

Honestly you can say what you want about that piece of shit game with all its war table percentage bullshit and choose-your-own-ending crap, and the fact you shoot Cerberus troops for most of the game despite the entire galaxy being under threat by "incomprehensible" aliens, the shitty choice of team members although you've made friends in the first two games and bothered to keep them alive, the fact you are destined to lose in cutscenes no matter how good a player you are, the tiresome fetch quests to earn some Galactic Readiness numbers, the fact that no notable decision you make in the previous games have any meaningful impact on how you play ME3 ("dire ramifications"), the state of Ashley if you bothered to keep her alive, the meaningless paragon/renegade interrupts when your renegade Shep who has shot hundreds of lifeforms to death all over the galaxy gets traumatized by a child
Not to mention the EA/Bioware stupidity that followed; you didn't forget, did you?

Christ, Mass Effect 3 is still horrible and yet people actually bought Andromeda

Mordin's was solid.

Grunt and Jack's missions were decent. And Legion had some decent moments. Even if the Geth as a whole kind of backtracked on what made them interesting in ME2.

I could take or leave the other cameos though.

Even if the ending completely missed the target I don't think ME3 gets enough credit for what variation it did account for.

I expected Garrus and Tali to have a half dozen lines and maybe an optional sidequest after all the times you could kill them or ignore them in earlier games. But they remained as my go-to squad until the end.

ME1 had the best writing but the tech limitations and dull combat (4 guns, little power variety) is just too much.
You'll actually see autists on here try to imply ME1 had fucking tactical depth.

If anything it's just a confession of "I played ME1 as an interactive story and don't do half of the Mako/copy-pasted prefab building and(or) cave side missions", which if anything is the correct way to play ME1.
