TARGET SIGHTED
A war is coming, I've seen it in my dreams. Fires sweeping over the earth, bodies in the street, cities turned to dust. Retaliation.
>Monolith went from making great games like FEAR 1 and Condemned to meh shit
Why's it gotta be this way. Why couldn't we have gotten a FEAR 3 that's not garbage?

I am probably the only person on this board who actually found these "mindfuck" segments some of the worst parts of it and absolute yawnfests?
I mean the tech was impressive for it's time, but the damn things were so laughably predictable and pointless, they just dragged shit out in what was already a terrible paced game.
The only thing worse than these segments were the long stretches of walking through insanely boring officies with absolutely fuck all happening.
The game was REALLY fun when the shooting started, but everything in between was pretty horrible.
>>388156715
>they are making lotr themed ass creed rip off instead of making worlds greatest FPS
I really hate this timeline
>>388157459
The A.I. was remarkable. It does not really matter how they achieved it - if it was truly adaptable or just a really, really good work with environmental triggers, scripting and sound effects: it worked. People would never fucking figured if the devs did not go OUT OF THEIR WAY to explain how they really achieved it.
Quality of an A.I. in a game is ultimately measured by how convincing it is, not how sophisticated the learning and decision making system behind it is.

is it printing a butt?
>>388158542
yeh. i think the team enjoyed making FEAR
>>388157459
but they can close doors!
>>388158172
>that natural reaction to shoot the damn thing
love this
>>388156180
just finished this game, was pretty good
the best part was near the end for me, where I figured out that if I drop my weapons before the flashbacks that take away your weapons, you can go back and grab them after. Was really funny figuring that out.
>>388157459
Some of the best designs involve working with minimal tools, unlike your bait.
>>388157459
why are there so many posts like these on /v/ lately?
>>388160162
By lately, surely you mean the last six fucking years...
>>388156180
I apologize I only have the gif of this but god damn is it a tragedy almost zero games since FEAR have similar lighting, physics, or gunplay.
>>388160626
why?
>You will live forever in the timeline where F3AR was made
>>388156180
>telepathically controlled clone army
>communicate verbally
>>388161042
Lazy devs, consumers willing to settle for less and less, consoles lowering the quality of all games. Those sort of things.
>want to install Extraction Point
>Steam makes me dl 16gb instead of just the expansion shit
What the fuck, why?
>>388161089
I tried to play them in a row, 2 was bearable but 3 made me consider suicide after having the short term memory of FEAR 1.
>>388161485
I know but why did you post that gif. It's very depressing.
>>388157928
yep, all the spooky sequences are shit
annoyed the fuck out of me when I replayed the game as an adult
the shooter part is still very good
>>388161885
I'm sorry anon. Have a drink on me.
>>388161702
Anyone else experiencing this when trying to download the main game or expansions separately?
>>388162250
Yes, no idea what they were thinking
>>388161765
The only even remotely interesting level in FEAR 3 was the mall, what a fucking terrible waste. What were they thinking?
>>388162281
And they still haven't fixed this and probably never will
I thought Extraction Point was better than base game. They're both amazing though.
>>388162250
Everyone does. If you own FEAR and the expansions on Steam it downloads all of them regardless of which one you selected.
Extraction Point is a expansion pack, it reuses files from the main game, and therefore requires it be installed. Perseus Mandate is stand alone, but Steam installs the other stuff even though it doesn't technically need it (if the Steam verison is a clone of the disc version, which it may not be).
>>388162674
>Perseus Mandate is stand alone
Oh fuck, I always thought that Extraction Point was stand alone too. Thanks, anon
>>388162809
Says it right on the box my man.
>>388162053
Ill do anon
>>388156180
Thank you for reminding me of the fact that I haven't replayed the FEAR games in 2017 yet
