Can't blame them though, not financially anyway. The profit margins in Pachinko if you do it right are fucking insane. It's not spending tens or even a hundred million dollars on developing a game that might not even be a hit.

Pachinko has pretty low risk, and amazingly high rewards. From a solely business point of view, I can see why they did it.

It's a demo, a proof of concept. P.T. stands for "Playable Teaser" after all.

It was meant as a wetting of the appetite for a full fledged experience that would come later in Silent Hills.

For a demo, and for what it was, it showed real promise. I wasn't a fan of the puzzles though, especially the fact that you had to use the microphone for the final one. No one figured that shit out by themselves, that was dumb.
