It's better than you expected, given the memes but 1 and particularly 2 are objectively superior in every way

You thought it was a good game for what it was, but could've been so much more considering the history of the series and what was teased during development.

Combat was terrible and frustrating. Most of the environments look cool but it was disappointing how little you could explore them. Story was full of plot holes.

I really hated how Elizabeth had no reactions to you killing civilians. You could shoot innocent people dead right in front of her and she'd just continue her scripted bullshit like nothing happened. I killed every innocent person that it was possible to kill and there was not even a line of dialogue from her to acknowledge it.

I hated the incredibly simplistic model of upper and lower classes they had and how they all co-operated in forming the Vox despite the conditions they were working in were better than in the actual United States of the time.

Also, yeah, lower-class Irish people are automatically not racist and willing to unite with a bunch of ethnic minorities in a murderous uprising led by a black woman, all poor people are basically the same, right?

I hate that they retconned the Communist-esque leader to be a good person in the DLC because they were pussies and couldn't show the leftist faction to be evil.

I liked the part in the asylum, it was pretty creepy. I liked the environments and aesthetics and the voice acting and sound effects were great.

I really loved the DLC that was set in Rapture, even though they put the difficulty level up way too high to compensate for its short length.

I haven't played the game since it first came out but mostly what I remembered about the asylum was how out of place it seemed. I had seen the character models and stories around them before so I knew what they were but there wasn't much explanation in the game. It's like the devs hamfisted that part in after newer iterations of the game made it obsolete because they didn't want to throw away cool designs.

It drove you to commit suicide, get on that.
