Its not common practice though. The way they went about it vs the way its went about before is entirely different.
Before it would be a closed beta where people could get in and streamers got a guarantee in that was 2 weeks prior to the game. That way good feedback was had, test the servers, and then progress would be erased and everything is aokay.
