I agree that it would be great if they switched to mainly doubles for in-game but I don't like the fact that competitive VGC is all dubs.
I understand the reasoning (singles is much harder to balance for and enables stall strategies that they don't want in tourneys) but so much of doubles strats boils down to just making correct protect guesses, and the distribution of pokemon is incredibly samefag compared to what you can do in singles.
