The first one is worth playing. It's a bit dated but still good if you don't mind the somewhat clunky mechanics and awful voice acting.

The second one isn't as bad as some people say but it's definitely a big step down from the first in terms of complexity and fun.

That is fucking stupid in that it is:

Instead make it about increasing inequality:

The DE:HR and DE:MD team needed good writers. For some reason they got shit, or were rushed. The story was the weakest part of these games, but there is an obvious, sensible, and even relevant pivot that wasn't taken for some reason.
