I liked the first one only because the latter was either funny for visuals and slapstick comedy or wasn't funny because of Claptrap.

First one's characters are all enjoyable. Surprisingly, even Tycho's I-Want-To-Fuck-Giraffes bit plays off well.

GLaDOS, Brock, and Sam are all great in 2. Ash could've been okay, but they didn't get Bruce Campbell which is fucking insane if you're using Ash for anything. Claptrap is now and forever just the worst.

Why couldn't they have just made it a 'game night' and had a lot of different types of card and pub games instead of just poker

They could have added new characters as DLC or expansions instead of an unnecessary sequel that's just the same thing
