Hello /v/, give me your recommendation about the best 5 devices to set up on a 4K HDR tv for maximum gaming.
Going full Idort, no limits. Cept for the available hdmi ports
The tentative optimal setup is following:
PS4 Pro,
PSTV
Wii U
Nvidia Shield(?)
Switch(?)

PS4
SNES Classic Mini
PC
Dreamcast
PC.

Xbox one x obviously.
It'll even give you another HDMI input so it's like it's not using any on your TV

PC, PS4 & Xbone
That's it
Not like the Switch supports HDR
Best looking HDR game is sadly Mass Effect Andromeda on PC with Dolby Vision, HDR 10 is outdated tech, Dolby Vision is actually Dynamic
tl'dr you better have got a Dolby Vision TV

>using HDMI instead of Displayport
you got fucked by your TV retailer OP

Good call. Hope it will have hdr passthrough.
Better question:
DVI OR HDMI?
Speaking as someone who has a 4K screen and use it for work, tried gaming on it too.
Don't bother with it unless you're playing with several people on the same machine so you need the actual room on the screen to see things.
Focus on getting a small monitor with a great refresh rate rather than a bigger screen and raping your video card.

VGA
Wait for the Xbox one x. The S has some great 4k friendly features but it's no X.

I have a monitor that fulfills my needs (1080p@120Hz, its ok), and now a low latency hdr TV for consoles and general entertainment.
