Fairly straightforward, in which order should I play Ys on the pc? Chronological or as they were being released (remade)?
What even IS the chronological order as there's basically several considered as Ys 4?

Start with Ys I and work your way forward. Remakes are fine in this regard.
Origins is first chronologically, but I'd strongly advise NOT playing it first. It will completely ruin I and II. It was made as fanwank for fans of the series so save it for later.
Fair warning. The games generally all follow the same structure. You'll probably burn yourself out if you try to marathon them back to back.
