is it any good from a gameplay/mechanic standpoint?
Yes.

Those are the best things about it.
And I like the setting but both stories and most of the characters are really lame. The only two good characters are Daud (the character voiced by Michael Madsen) and Samuel the Boatman.

it's a good game from any standpoint, I don't know what the memers are on about
the second game is a different story
>>388046739
Yes, it's almost perfect

What's wrong with the sequel? Gameplay was objectively better with more nonlethal attacks
Story was pretty bland but that was the same way in 1 too.
It certainly tries, but I never really felt like it sealed the deal. The overall quality of the game is too hampered by its ludicrously low level of difficulty. You outclass your foes by a hundred fold even on the highest difficulty setting.
Left a really bad taste in my mouth.

gameplay is solid but the balance is completely in the shitter. Enemies are complete pushovers
>>388046739
I felt it was kind of boring
how do the controls feel?is it one of those games that was designed around a pad and ported to kb&m which ends up feeling like shit?
>>388048758
I'm not a big fan of the game but it controls perfectly.
>>388046739
its extremely unbalanced, sadly, so the game becomes a cakewalk like 5 minutes in
>inb4 flesh and steel
fuck off, we're not talking about no fun mode.
Also, it's a shame the game punishes you for playing lethally.

Honestly this. It's technically a sound game but everything it has and does feels kind of 'ehh'.

I dunno if I'd really call it punishing. Like, getting the "bad" ending isn't as if you've lost. It's not a failure state
