>religion in video games
>is always based almost exclusively on Catholic imagery, but no mention or portrayal of Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the sick, Marriage, or Holy Orders
>the church is either cartoonishly evil and the final boss is god, or the church fights spoopy ghosts and you go there to heal

What did video games mean by this?

This and Castlevania are probably the only examples. Ironic that the japanese can give christian religion more fair treatment than the actual west.
>>
>>388033070
Mainline Castlevania, though their involvement is pretty much just always restricted to "The Belmonts and Alucard are working for them".

Maybe because they don't know how disgusting Christianity actually is.

The Japs do it because they are enormous racists and fucking hate Christians.

It's not just a video game thing, you see Christians pop up ever so occasionally in Japanese media, I suppose not so uncommon in anime though, and they are always portrayed as either the most evil bastards on the planet or the most retarded bastards on the planet. Their own mystical bullshit always gets nothing but deference and validation.

>>

I seriously don't even know if religion is a big thing in Japan or what they practice religiously.
>>
>>388038586
I honestly don't even consider "people" who are pro-globalism are human beings.
>>
>>388038990
Buhhdism and SHintoism are still practiced a reasonable amount in Japan, but usually it's a more cultural thing than it is an expression of spirituality. There are Christians there, but they're mainly Western expats with a few local converts (Or people with Western background) sprinkled in.

Most Japanese realistically fall into agnosticism or atheism, belief-wise.

I used to think like this. And then I compare society now to 100 years ago when we held christian and traditional values close to our hearts and how much better the people then are now.

All forms of degeneracy have surfaced in our society now. The nuclear family structure which produced the best people society could have has suffered a complete collapse thanks to women having an identity crisis and acting like children.

The more you see how the absence of religion has caused society to completely shit itself, the more you realise why so many died to protect it.

I could never be religious myself, but I feel as though my family being christian had a lot to do with ensuring we became decent people. Without things like this, people just become selfish, money hungry, jew slaves.

Actually, there's an interesting reference to YHVH ultimately meaning well in SMT: Strange Journey. Despite the fact that the Demiurge goes on a rampage, after you help YHVH gain back his power he will say that he will always help mankind if they obey the holy spirit. It's a subtle but present reference to the fact that actual God (the Great Will) also always means well for humanity in the end. It's the same with SMTIV:A, but that takes place after YHVH goes crazy again. The Great Will is ultimately the one who opposes YHVH, who makes the Messiahs like Flynn, Nanashi, Aleph, and the Hero. And as the Great Will is God with a truly capital G, the church (which exists under his name) is ultimately good.

Religion is generally seldom "good".

Religion is about controlling people through fear of the unknown.

So like every semitic religion then

>horrible conditions for Germany
Look, even talking as a man of faith myself, thinking that a hundred years ago was better then now is a flat-out lie.

>>

>I mean by opposition to other religions like buddhism who doesn't threat you to burn in hell if you don't believe in them

It's not about threat. For example, people fear dying (because they don't know what happens to them, etc), buddhism "answers" this.

People want to blindly trust in religion despite there being no evidence to support it because it helps them cope with the fear of the unknown, etc.

This is bad though because you're intentionally deluding yourself.

>Video games never show Quakers, Shakers, Jehovah's Witnesses, Pentecostals, Methodists, Baptists, Anabaptists, Anglicans, Lutherans, Calvinists/Presbyterians, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodox, Evangelicals, Oneness Pentecostals, Messianic Jews, or Mormons
>Seldom even hint at the existence of Protestantism, let alone the concept of "schisms" to begin with

wtf I hate video games now
