FFV has a more consistent tone. FFVI bounces between dramatic and silly moments so much it's hard to take any of it seriously.

Horrendous balance even by FF standards.
The whole Siegfried/Ziegfried thing going nowhere.
Trying to fill in Gau's Rages is a nightmare for 100% completion autism.
