To be honest, it just kinda made me realize that Sonic really is SEGA's only famous (i.e recognizable as Nintendo's top franchises) legacy series. Everything else is basically "literally who".

No wonder they didn't last long in the console industry.

You're not wrong, but I'd have to pin that on A. some characters having a single appearance outside of crossovers (Ristar, Vyse) or their series usually not leaving Japan (Arle, Erika)

The only two characters I ever used to play in Tekken were Wang and Ganryu.
Both will likely never show up again, I debated skipping 7 because of it. They were legitimately fun to play as, both great playstyles.
