How are they actually? All I know now is that Tony Taka literally owns the designs now and its just sameface everywhere. I do like Mistral though, I want to throatfuck her and use her twintails as handlebars

I like the early games. The fighting game was alright. Now it's dead.

Wow 2 Shining threads in one month. That's new for /v/.
Anyway I fucking love Shining, my first RPG was Shining Force and it's still among my favorites (Domingo still the best). Haven't tried out many of the new ones like Blade Arcus so idk. Series looks like it took a different direction.

Reboot of Shining Force i think... they say it's going back to Classic gameplay, converted to a grid-free movement setup.

Shining Force Feather was ok (2009 though).

Shining in the Darkness = mediocre dungeon crawler
Shining Force = mediocre SRPG which I have some nostalgia for
Shining ARPGs = no idea but at least the art is nice now

The ARPGs vary HEAVILY in quality.
I still think the 4 game original Shining Force series is a stellar collection of TRPGs, and SitD holds up decently compared to other crawlers on consoles at the time.

It's been a long time, but Shining Soul II in particular stood out as a pretty decent ARPG for the GBA. Shining Soul 1 is dogshit though, skip it unless you need the story snippets.

Wish they could make a fun one. The graphics and art direction are there, but all the ones made after the original team left to form Camelot and work for Nintendo have been very very bland gamewise. The first game in their new company was Goden Sun.
