For instance, some servers do let you build inside the spawn room. If it's a game mode with prep time then BLU team can have any number of level 3 buildings prepped and ready from the getgo, and the Engis can sneak past RED and set up their fully upgraded nests far up ahead in the map. At the same time, RED Spies won't be able to use the teleporters disguised because they can't go inside the enemy base, making their only method of approaching the nests being to directly go at them.

When I played I played on a server that let you build in spawn. It was also 32 players. The standoffs we'd have on that server were some of the greatest moments in my vidya history, and it wasn't until years later I realized that wasn't how TF2 was "meant" to be played.

Conversely, it makes them way too protected if he's trying to get a sneaky setup going, such as if he has a teleporter in the backlines that he intends to get a sentry into, at least he's vulnerable while getting the setup going.

The glitch I wish they never patched was when you taunted while walking off a ledge and you could walk around while doing the taunt animation. It made normies freak out and looked hilarious.


For some reason to this day you can still trap your team mates inside of teleproter traps, though. Just put the entrance directly on top of the exit on a steep slope and they get stuck. Never patched that.
