How did the spinoff final fantasy end up being a better game

you do realize almost all ff spinoffs are better than the mainline, right? tactics, crystal chronicles, 4hol, bravely default.

I'm convinced WoFF will more or less be underrated and relatively unknown forever.

Yeah vita version runs like shit IIRC. I remember having zero issues with the PS4 version.

Its a fun simple turned based JRPG with nice production values and visuals. If you can get it for like 30 bucks or less i'd say go for it.

I mean, it's not like enix has ever released a good FF in the first place.

Expectations. WoFF came out of nowhere so people didn't expect much going in, and as a result, they were pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a pretty solid game. FFXV on the other hand was a big deal, taking 10 years to release and being hyped to hell, so when it came out and it was just alright, people were disappointed.
