Gamestop's entire website went down for like an hour and Target's website was not functioning at all for anybody trying to check out for at least a few minutes. Those are probably hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost sales, so they definitely do care. In the past, they've also tried to take legal action against the guys who write these scripts, but that obviously isn't going to stop them. Best thing would be for some arrests and prosecutions to happen against people who use these scripts, because what they're doing is pretty much the exact same thing as ddos'ing websites, which is an actual crime.
