>tfw it's free to play now 6 years later
Can we expect a Brink 2 announcement at quakecon?
God I hope not
how many failure games can splash damage make before they go out of business.
Id and Splash Damage are tighter than an underage whore's butthole, so it may be a possibility.
>Making a game F2P
>To hype up a sequel
That's not how these things work, unless Brink 2 is also F2P... hmm. Brink sucks though. Even the new players will notice that, surely. Why would anyone play Brink when TF2 exists, man?
Brink was probably the first real game where I've seen a overwhelming majority disappointed
>>387951941
I liked this and I reinstalled it a couple hours ago and I still like it.
>>387952537
Why does anyone still play TF2 when it's older than most of it's player base.
I'm glad I can finally see how bad it actually is after years of /v/'s bitching
>>387953401
I dunno, why do people still play Football and shiet?
>>387953619
Because we wuz ghetto n sheet.
>>387953439
And yet you will never feel or truly understand the disappointment that was collectively felt by the entire playerbase when they bought it day 1 out of the pure hype Splash Damage had generated.
>>387951941
>Sentry and explosive choke point flashbacks
Please no
>>387954361
What was the problem, anyway? I bought it after the shitstorm and thought it was fine, but I never cared about it before I saw it on sale. Was it just buggy, or what?
>paid 60 dollars for this
thanks for reminding me you fucking faggot
>>387951941
>tfw still feel burned that fell for the hype and preordered this game
>>387954361
If only it happened back when steam refunds were easier to do. Fuck I hate Brink and want it off my list.
>>387954541
So you didn't actually play the game. Ok.
thanks for giving me the Anger
>>387954541
Unfinished.
No content.
Rushed out with bugs, graphical issues and if I remember correctly, certain graphics cards didn't work with the game which caused a huge divide in an already mad as fuck community.
I don't think the game even received any updates after 6 months, let alone any big content packs.
It was dead on arrival despite having so many people preorder.
>yfw Brink has more people playing right now than BattleBorn
>>387954703
I got to like level 15 or 16. And I didn't say it was a masterpiece, but that it was fine. I don't understand the buttflames toward the game, but I went in blind and cheap, and it ran fine on my rig, so I didn't have anything to be upset about and had a relatively good time with it.
>>387954915
Thanks. I always just assumed the lack of content was because it bombed, not vice-versa.
>>387955583
>>387954982
well shit
>tfw fighting buyers remorse and tears the entire way
This is cool cause I kinda wanted to try one of the "shittiest" game of our
So my impressions are
>Bunch of weapons that have barely any difference
>Gameplay affecting unlockables because ???
>Bug that prevents you from joining games in a game that has been out for 6 years
>Literally no setting options
>Shitty do-nothing grenades consume the same resource bar as your class abilities, and have a cooldown on top of that presumably just so you don't accidentally waste your valuable resources on doing nothing
>I threw a grenade when this game first came out and I'm still waiting for my resource bar to recharge.
>Secondary objectives that don't matter
>>387955781
>giving a shit about trophies and achievements
>>387955841
>anon died before he could finish typing his post and play Brink
>>387952669
This, Brink hurt me like no other disappointing AAA release ever has. The game just looked so GOOD.
My copy actually tore up and wouldn't load a certain stage so I couldn't even play a chunk of the 'campaign' for most of the hours I put into the game and I still tried to get some kind of enjoyment out of it, but it broke me.
>>387954541
Graphically repulsive
Terrible map design lead to every game being a turret clusterfuck
No attempt to balance classes. At all.
Little content.
Terrible (outright not working) matchmaking with loads of bots in every game.
There was an average of 8 players playing this before it went F2P, who are these people?
The story and artstyle were great but they completely botched the online component and only had about eight maps total.I still enjoyed it a lot though
pff hahaha
>>387952149
this was a legit good fun game
I remember I loved playing this game on console. I played so much I leveled up to max in a few days. I want to try it on pc now that it is free.
But it look like it is not totally free. The DLC for 2 maps, Abilities, and attachments still cost dosh. I mean I do have money to spare...
So how many of you fell for trap that lets you look around while doing objectives.
>>387956873
nvm there were more people playing this than i tought... wtf?!
why...
>>387956873
Probably Splash Damage employees.
>>387956405
>his download finished and it immediately cleaved off his
>Install this to have a bit of so-bad-it's-fun with a few friends
>Matchmaking straight up doesn't work, no one can join eachother
>Functional servers have unbearable latency
>Game is capped at 30fps in solo
Shaking my damn head.
>>387956936
no one is gonna pay for arena shooters anymore
>>387957464
well, guess i'm downloading brink tonight.
Already uninstalled. Fuck this nonfunctional piece of shit.
>>387954982
It has almost 10 times the number of players.
>>387954982

>All those Hype Threads on /v/ before Brinks release
>Thread after thread of new Brink OC as we all talked about how much fun it's going to be
>Game finally comes out
>Dead in like a month
Jesus Fucking Christ one of the biggest let downs of my life
>>387954982
>yfw if it has more players than BattleBorn that means it has even MORE players than LawBreakers
I'd almost think this was just done as one last shake of salt on the wound that was all of us who were dumb cunts and bought it at full price years ago. They have nothing to gain or lose, but hey, let everyone get a final reminder that this existed and is still buried somewhere in your Steam library.
