Why is this so much better than any other 2D Mario game?

Wario land 4 is much better

People only like it because it's a graphic update of 3. That's why almost all of the best ROMhacks for Mario games are of Super Mario World, because it's far better optimized and technically proficient than 3 was.

Mario 3 is the better game. Mario World base levels are hit and miss. Mario Maker provides better actual levels than both games. Yoshi's Island is also arguable better.

Debate me, you will lose.

Best controls & physics.

The cape is the best power-up in any platformer, too bad it is not used to its full potential in SMW.
I love cape levels in Mario Maker, too bad there are relatively few of them.

It may be the GOAT 2D platformer, but it's not like SMB3 is really that far behind.

Levels in 3 are harder but way too small. A proficient player can leap over like 4 of the levels obstacles in a single bound

My only issue with NSMBWii and NSMBU is that the multuplayer required that they only make levels which go straight to the right or straight up. Mario World had more exploration

mario 3, nsmbu, and smw are the top 3. they are all equally as good for me.
