The issue isn't that the Tri kills in 2 hits, the issue is that it has the exact same range as a Splattershot, but still has a crazy high fire rate and total lack of falloff damage.
Burst Bomb+Ink Armor is also obscenely strong as a weapon set, but the Tri is already really good.

More bullshit, the Tri has a very good fire rate, especially compared to everything else in the game that 2 shots. If you run into a Tri and the two of you exchange hits, unless you have a 1 shot, you're going to trade at best. And this isn't even including the Burst Bomb combo, which is faster than 2 sloshes. Not to mention Ink Armor means that unless you're seriously out maneuvering the Tri, the Tri will win every 1v1.
The fact of the matter is you're probably some shitty Tri Slosher main who got carried up to S and know for a fact that you'll drop rank when your crutch gets nerfed.

You can drain your main weapon to make a path to right underneath it and splashdown it instead of waiting around it within bomb range trying to conserve ink for two bombs whole fending off a horde of enemies coming at you. I really like this map. It seems to go back to Splatoon 1 roots. There's solid rooms areas defined, a nice line of progression, no boxes everywhere, and nice clean and distinct feature in the high road low road system, and the stage is actually themed after something. It's not just "pile of boxes" or "Kinda an art show outdoors but really just a random collection of buildings mostly.

You actually can get versions of the same equipment with different main abilities using the phone app. If you missed one you want, you can order it off of another player ingame, but they'll have to have been in the last match you played. This will become more important as more of these alternative equipment setups get into circulation.

The only map that is accurately described by your "boxes everywhere complaint" is Sturgeon Shipyard and, to a lesser extent, Starfish Mainstage. Maps like The Reef are still fairly open but have plenty of concise pathways that make them significantly less so, especially when compared against Splat 1 maps like Museum D'Alfonsino. Musselforge fitness is a box-shaped map, but tight pathways exist near the rainmaker post, on the far cross-sides, and against the center platform. Some of these pathways are far, far less divided than they were in certain Splat 1 maps, but that's ignoring maps like Ancho-V games, Blackbelly Skatepark, and Mahi Mahi Resort.

And then there's your bizarre complaint of maps being "themeless," but it's so vague that I'm not sure even you understand what you mean when you say it.
