Why don't they just put REX's railgun on a submarine?
>>387919416
>use electricity underwater
>>387919416
because water creates friction and slows down the projectile
Why don't they just put the Subs ICBMs on REX?
>>387919416
Can a submarine roar?
>>387919506
To be fair, a railgun would fire a laser of electricity, and seeing as how electricity doesn't consist of matter, there isn't any friction to be had.
>>387919416
That was the plot of MGS4
>>387919697
That's not how railguns work
>>387919697

Real talk, nuclear submarines can't actually withstand the recoil force from firing their own missiles. In the event they have to fire, it's actually expected the sub will crumple and split in half killing everyone inside.
Had a buddy who joined the Navy a few years back.

He got you good dumbass
>>387920181
the term nuclear submarine refers to the fact that it's powered by a nuclear reactor so it can travel for months at a time without needing to refuel
it has nothing to do with the armament it carries

Months at a time? Try 30 years.
Submarines don't need rail guns. Torpedos and tomahawks work just fine.
