Haven't played Nier, EYE is overrated and never played Yakuza but it looks good.

Isn't it obvious? /v/-safe = safe pick (on /v/). That is, a pick which opens you up to the least criticism because you're going along with the /v/ consensus, intentionally or not. How many 3x3 threads have you seen where half the 3x3s share 3 or 4 games? Even if they're not doing it deliberately, surely it's not too much to ask for some variety instead of toeing the board line on what's good and what's trash.

Zeno Clash is good though. Not fantastic, but it's good. It's also only like 4 hours long. The artsyle is amazing too.

How can you dislike it, it's not even long enough for you to really grow to hate (or like) any specific mechanic, but it is interesting.

I mean, yeah, I'm kinda hard on Zeno Clash, it's not shitty, but it's ugly to look at, many parts are a chore (the on-rails shooting for one), I disliked pretty much all characters, and it's only redeeming quality is that it is "interesting" and "somewhat different". Which is not a bad thing, but not enough -in my opinion- to lift up the game.

Now hang on, I understand where you got that impression but I'm not saying get rid of all of them, I'm just sick of seeing too many of them. Call of Cthulhu: DCotE is fucking god tier and it only gets better after the mid point. Without the inclusion of guns the game would have been a literal walking sim. I don't care about your fucking lovecraftian lore, that game was fucking brilliant all the way through, with the exception of the fish refinery level.

The only game on that list that I actually care about is VTM Bloodlines. I am playing it right now, the first time in my life, in the year 2017 and I think it's an entertaining game. The missions levels and maps are really atmospheric and I like the hidden details.

Wow.

The problem is, right after you get the gun out of the police station. You get into a car chase. It's not bad, I enjoyed it, but it's not scary of in line with Lovecraftian lore. And right after this is the worst level in the game at this fucking fish factory. It's a pure FPS level with tons of shooting. It takes like 15-20 minutes to finish and it's done. Then there is the Refinery. Some people don't like this one too, but it's worth playing. You still have guns, but it's basically a fuckhuge labyrynth, a lot of samey textures and I initially disliked it, but grew to enjoy just how maze like and isolating it was. Also it gets really good near the end, it starts out with gun fights just like fish factory does, but you end up losing your guns again later in the level and it goes back to being more like the beginning. Then after you finish The Refinery, it goes back to being how it was at the beginning. Though you have guns, but only some of the time. You keep losing your guns then getting them back several times. So there is still more running around and exploring like in the beginning,but there is also a few gun sections, but nothing as bad as the fish factory level.

If you like VtMb you will like Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

Both games are also crippled by being released unfinished by publisher meddling (Activision and Bethesda respectively) and both need large fan patches to work properly too. But are worth it to play them.

VtMB also has it's Sewers section and DCotE has it's Fish Factory.
