Not really but I think if jumping wasn't manual it would offer a lot more opportunity for challenge in platforming sections. Manual jumping is never a good idea.

Rolling has a hitbox that can do minor damage and break things.
At least in Majoras Mask it did, I'm pretty sure you can do things like cut grass with it in OoT too, but it's been a long time.

Hyrule Field was thematically significant to child Link's perspective vs. an adult's. When you first enter the large open world, you don't mind taking your time exploring every corner because it feels magical, like there could be anything in it. Same. The main reason I can't enjoy watching playthroughs of games is the player spaming something like a roll move or a double jump just to go a bit faster, ALL THE TIME. I understand if it's being used for speedrunning, but doing it all the time during a normal playthrough is annoying.
