It's my favorite 3D Mario. The only other choice is 3D World, which is fun but a chore to finish.

Every other 3D Platformer with Mario as the playable character isn't 3D Mario. Where's the timer? How come you don't become little Mario when hit as Super Mario? Where are the mushrooms and starmen? Why are there such few levels?

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate 64 or Sunshine, they're top 10 quality for sure. I just don't think that design of game should be Mario.

The only thing I hated about this game is that if you die too many times on a stage your save would be permanantly tainted and you can never get shiny stars on your save file.
You'd think they'd tie that to actually using the scrub mode, but nope it's tied to it showing up in the first place.
Resetting the console because doing risky shit is fun got old fast.

While I love both Land and World, World was a HUGE step back gameplay wise because all of the levels had to be designed around the possibility of 4 players. 3D Land being only single player made for a wider variety of levels, more satisfying level design, and more challenge. 3dWorld was a step back in every way except graphics and multiplayer.
