How do I make my BG2 combat fun?
Literally every battle is over in 3 seconds and it's frustrating to try to see who in the cluster of tiny characters is doing what.

Never I guess, currently playing Pillars right now and all I really need to do is cast some buffs time to time. It's not exactly fun really. Either go full action or tile-turn based.

With you dying cause you suck?

PoE combat and balancing is way different from BG2.
Plus PoE is pretty bad in general.

The only game that does this right is Dragon Age: Origins.

What's your verdict on D:OS 1/2?

Set autopause to spotted trap, spell casted, enemy sighted, enemy died, weapon unuasable.
Set your party with suitable formation, two lines for example. In this case switch your melee chars in the first three positions on character's order.

I haven't played them yet

Been there done that. I wish this game had turn-based combat because it's otherwise pretty nice. They say you should hit space repeatedly in Baldur's Gate, but it's still not glorious turn-based.

You can set autopause at the end of the turn.

hmm.. the game settings say "end of round" instead of "end of turn." I missed that one for some reason, trying it thanks.

Right, it's called round, turn is 6 rounds, I forgot it..
