>TFW successfully completed all my games in my backlog
who are you quoting?
>2017
>finishing games
>>387867057
So now what are you gonna do anon?
>>387867057
you didn't have a backlog then, would take me years to get thru mine
>>387867057
Good job man. I still have a ways to go
>tfw beat DQ IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and just finished IX today.
I'm so ready for XI
>418 books
>292 games
>42 graphic novels/mangos
>919 movies
>383 albums
>42 television shows
>spend all day shitposting
>>387867923
I bet a good 95% of those are trash and useless to you. That's why you don't feel an incentive to finish them
>>387867057
Good job. You've wasted your time on worthless singleplayer games and your life still hasn't improved.
>>387867057
>Not getting bored and giving up to only playing games as they release and online games to fill in the gaps where there are no interesting releases
This lifestyle actually managed to be cheaper than when I was hoarding used video games for my collection.
Help me out then, which should I play first
>Super Mario RPG
>Paper Mario
>Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
>>387868625
Play them in the other in which they released, 'tard.
>>387867913
Congrats anon
>>387868727
order*
>>387868625
Start with the shittiest game first and work your way up.
M&L -> SMRPG -> PM
Sometimes I fantasize about throwing away all my games and starting over. It would feel so nice and simple to just own one game that I can beat before I get something else. I have so much that I haven't played, it's so hard to pick any one game and stick to it.
>Have massive backlog
>Add new games to backlog all the time
>Look up old platforms and look for classics I never played and overlooked / underrated titles
>Make threads all the time about underrated games to find those interesting 7/10s
I think I like video games too much guys
>>387868000
This. I make massive backlogs and then drop things after a pilot or a chapter because they're garbage.
>>387867057
>have massive backlog
>instead of chipping away at it daily i take extra overtime shifts, build models or replay games I've already beaten for the 20th time.
Honestly I'll die before i ever complete my backlog.
>>387867913
Jesus. How long did all that take? Both play time and dates?
>>387869102
this except i just kind of enjoy video games. like a 6/10 enjoyment llevel.
>>387867923
>19 anime
>950 comic issues and graphic novels
>18 manga series
>142 video games
>8 books
>finished movies and tv show backlogs
I'm slow but steady. Video games are the only one that seem like an insurmountable backlog.
>>387868991
This, sometimes I look all my games and don't know where to start
>>387867923
>books
>>387869102
Same shit here man.
I have a giant backlog of PS1 and SNES JRPGs and some platformers I want to run through, along with some old school shooters, and I bought Bayonetta, Grandia 2, Vanquish, Turok 2, Tales of Symphonia and I haven't really started any of them. I did just beat Castelvania 4 and started Rondo, and I'm glad I did, but there's just too many games I'm interested in to fully get through.
>>387867923
>5 books, 7 if I can find some of them
>8 games
>2 manga that I can remember
>1 anime
>4 movies
>don't watch tv much
>my musical tastes are drab and I listen to the same songs thousands of times
Huh, I guess I'm alright then
What are you supposed to do now that your backlog is finished?
>>387867923
>>387869850
>>387872207
>books
>>387867057
Great job anon. Enjoy life and never forget that you are loved.
>>387876197
This. Books are for pseudo-intellectual faggots.
>>387867057
>>387867248
I think it's time for a trip to Disneyland boys!
>>387867057
>tfw nearly my entire backlog is comprised of 50+ hour long RPGs
At least it's somewhat beneficial to me since I'm a total poorfag, so I don't buy many new games
>>387867923
>>387869850
>>387872207
Bugs... easy on the reading
Books are fun
>>387867057
>only had a 3DS for the entire gen 7
>backlog still growing faster than I can finish the games (currently have 12 games pending)
>new Pokemon coming out soon
>recently got a switch too
FUCK
>>387867057
>tfw I havent finished a game since 2013.
>>387877003
Why do people like you even come here?
>140 books plus 4 or 5 series I want to get into sometime in the future
>over 200 games in my backlog excluding emulation, which would make this number double
>Approximately 50 albums to check out
It's fortunate I don't really like movies, otherwise I'd be fucked. Also I have to work and constantly update myself, which doesn't really help.
>>387876748
Video games > books/comics >>>>>>> music >>>>>>>> film/TV
When you pick a new game from your backlog, do you go for the short, easy games first or the long, immersive ones like RPGs? Or do you try to mix it up?
i have so many fucking games in my backlog its not funny
im literally never going to finish it, its probably impossible
>>387867923
Go to your Calender and write appointments.
>>387877224
I agree
>>387867913
that's a lot of grinding right there, I was planning to play up to the ps2 game but I gave up almost at the end of DW2, the grinding in the first game was enough for me...
To those with huge backlogs I have this single shred of advice to give:
Cut out all the unnecessary bloat. Be realistic. Do you really see yourself playing/reading/watching that book/movie/vidya? Don't waste your time with garbage and be diligent.
>tfw massive selection of entertainments
>books, comics, movies, series, javs, etc...
>mfw I just end up here refreshing the catalogue
>just end up downloading more and more javs
>hard drive space is in the red now for months
I think I'm going to have to make some kind of daily schedule to create some structure that allows me to do shit instead of just ending up here shitposting and laughing at dumb shit you faggots do
>tfw I have games that I brought around 2010 or 2011 and still haven't played
So much things to do, and so little time to enjoy it
I always piss away way too much time on /v/ to get round to playing as much video games as I would like. My backlog is in the hundreds, so I think I would have to quit 4chan for a year or two to clear my backlog.
>>387867098
his face
I do have a huge backlog. I'm currently playing Witcher 3 and having a blast.
I found that only having the game I want to finish installed helps a lot. I don't jump from game to game anymore.
I also usually have a huge problem motivating myself to start a game after I come home from work, but once I started it u get into it and play for a few hours before going to bed and watching a TV show
>>387867057
I actually don't have much of a backlog. I haven't bought a console or a console game since 2011 so I've finished all of those, and I only have 2 games in my Steam library that I've never touched, plus another 3 that I've only played halfway. I'm a poorfag so I don't buy a ton of games and I usually get the most out of the games I do buy.
>game in backlog gets a remaster
>>387880190
>game in backlog gets two sequels, and a remake
>>387878292
this happened to me, I had stalker for like 8 years before I beat it
>>387880438
I brought Final Fantasy 9 around 2009 and 2010 and I still haven't played it.
>>387878292
I bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 on launch day back in 2010 for $50 and never even unwrapped the plastic
>>387881369
I haven't played it myself, but I heard it was pretty good.
>>387868000
>>387881369
Jesus Christ. How? You didn't pop it in for an hour or so as soon as you got it?
>>387882857
Nope. I put it on the shelf, got distracted by other things, and never went back to it.I also did the exact same thing for Xenoblade Chronicles. Bought it brand new on launch day for full price and never even opened it. Kill me
>have literal hundreds of games in backlog that I will never hope to finish in a lifetime
good job anon, im working on mine too!
>>387881369
Pic for proof
>>387883223
not if you act like that!
>>387871887
>>387876197
I-it's comic books, I swear!
