Gameplay-wise is fine. Being more focused on just straight up killing things instead of dryhumping the world for keycards may be more or less to your tastes, but otherwise there's nothing really too egregious if you just want the visceral thrill of slaughtering monsters.

Depends on the levels honestly. Once you get the meatier guns (Super Shotgun, Gauss Canon, Chain gun) and the better weapon mods (Grenade launcher, Micro missile launcher) it does get better.

Bought that game for 20 bucks today, the multi is surprisingly fun and the new PvE is legit fun. I already played the campaign when I pirated it but the multi is some of the most fun I've had in a while.

The worst I can really say about it is the level design is pretty bland and predictable, it's 90% fighting in arenas and 10% walking through halls to the next arena populated by a few trash enemies. It's good regardless.

Nah Wolfenstein was pretty boring. All the areas felt the same, it was extremely linear, and while the guns all felt satisfying, the enemies were there just to be killed, not present a challenge. DOOM was a step in the right direction because at least on Nightmare you start to need to watch your step. Unfortunately, The New Colossus looks like it shares the same problems, as its first demo quickly changes the bright but twisted scene of Nazi-colonized America in favor of subway tunnels that look boring-ly similar to the same cookie cutter complexes from the first game.

Really? I felt that the game managed to have all the area's be uniquely different from each other. Sunset over a bridge with chill music. Moon base. Prison. Every level had it's own aesthetic and enemies that corresponded to it.

Because when you are glory killing on the difficulties that matter, you get 5-10 health (25 on critical health) where as the weakest attacks can deal 12 damage. Not to mention even though you have invul frames, the enemies are still lining up their shots and you can guarantee they will hit you as soon as you leave the glory kill state, making it moot.

Also by the time they are in a glory kill state, it is only 5 pistol shots to stop. Hardly "wasting" ammo considering how little damage the pistol does in the first place. Translate that damage to the other weapons and see what I mean.

My favourite part about Half-Life 2 is how vulnerable the humans are. You can actually kill people with a headshot. Too many shooters have humans as bulletsponges and it's just terrible. A human doesn't take two SMG mags to kill.
