Yan's face looks severely fatter and uglier.
Her legs look much less shapely.

Kind of impressive how they managed to make her much less appealing without changing the design itself.

They're way too long, honestly. I get the value of exaggerating features but she looks like a taller bayonetta, proportions wise.

Either SJW or just monumentally poor design decisions. Every redesign they've done since the campaign is a downgrade, if not the design then the artstyle itself looks a little poorer (see: Phoebe).

They thought the whole "He's both a conquistador and a cowboy" thing didn't work out that well so they redesigned a new conquistador character from the ground up to be a bit more cohesive.

They also hated the bullet hat.

The lack of shading is just because it's from a model sheet and not promo art.
I'm not sure if they've posted the finalized character art anywhere outside of their twitch steams.

It was being shilled at the height of the anti SJW hysteria and the height of the anti Kickstarter hysteria, so it became the perfect storm of shitposting.

Nuna's is fucking fantastic

Baozhai and Quadira's designs look a bit worse (RIP fish cannons) but are still good. Pheobe is basically the same thing, just with slightly worse proportions.

Vasco is a travesty

There's really no drama to talk about They're redesigning some characters to make them easier to animate and unify the art style since most of them were initially drawn by guest artists. Some of them aren't great, others are barely different or outright better. Besides that the games coming along steadily and has a big new demo coming out next month for backers.

The hate for it still largely comes from the shilling back during its campaign and the disappointment of the Skull Girls team doing something that appeals to SJWs. Coming right after Mighty no. 9's debacle didn't help at all either, people were on the edges of their seats waiting for the next Kickstarter failure.
