My main problem with MMOs for this kind of game are the prevalence of assholes who ruin the experience for everyone else.
Sure, it could be 'comfy flying around with your crew and meeting with/raiding NPCs and other players', but with the crowd that gets attracted to MMOs, it'd likely be something more like 'cower in fear as the crews of overlevelled asshats fly their high-power ships around and destroy everything in sight'.
Maybe I've just had bad experiences with these games.

On top of that, exploration might get boring when everything worthwhile will have been exhaustively documented and screenshotted by other players, leaving no real mystery until the devs add an expansion to it (with that mystery only lasting for a day or two while the wiki-autists are busy flying in there and trying not to get stomped by the raiders).

I know it's not the most original TPS horror game, but I love how it combines interesting industrial weapons with stuff like stasis and kinesis
It makes for a super satisfying gameplay loop: shooting some limbs off of a few necromorphs, firing those limbs to save some ammo, and using stasis when things get too hectic
I wish I knew something else to scratch this itch with

Basically that upcoming Netflix series with fantasy themes in modern times, but it's L.A. Noir in the 90s mixed with World of Warcraft.

An open world action rpg in the vein of DD but less fantasy based. Setting would be greek age eroupe, northern africa, and the middle east. Also the style would be over the top; 10 story temples, actual miles high tower of babel, colossus of roades. No fast travel unless you ride a boat or carriage.

Space Harrier-perspective rail shooter with an interesting scoring system, like in Ibara Kuro/Ibara Pink Sweets Arrange.
