The reason they're inundating the market with the N2DS XL to coax the market back to N3DS? What they'll do is run a huge campaign on Christmas saying "YOU ASKED FOR IT, AND NOW IT'S BACK. INTRODUCING THE N3DS. NOW IN SLIM AND XL." It's a full-proof plan.

Don't you see? The N2DS XL campaign is a controlled experiment in advertising for Nintendo. They're running it for statistics so they don't make the same mistake with the Switch of demand cooling, but their ulterior plan will be to turn it around and exploit it by doing what they do best, artificial scarcity. Soccer moms will buy it up and Nintendo will continue scamming people hand over fist with screen lottery.
