I liked it, felt the narrative was enjoyable enough to warrant the mediocre gameplay. The atmosphere was pretty great, though.
>>
Great game.
Only insecure contrarians hate it.
>>
I really enjoyed it. The gameplay was alright at best, but the story was great. I would be happy if they made a sequel.
>>
>>387844386
I liked it. The story isn't necessarily new for anything except video games, but I liked the adaptation. I don't play a lot of TPS games but found the gameplay serviceable.
>>
Its pretencious fliff according to https://vid.me/ooYCC
>>
>>387846426
>the sequel is just Martin trying and failing to adapt to civilian life before blowing his brains out in a motel room
>>
>>387848489
>martin tries to live a normal life but hipsters and black tear the american flag off of his lawn and he goes off his meds and wastes them all
>>
>>387848367
EmptyHero is a fag who tries way too hard to be controversial. He's like Armand White trying to be a comedian on Twitter.

"You should have turned the game off if you didn't want bad things to happen" is a retarded statement.
>>
>>387849360
Did he really say that?

"The game punishes you, the player, for making a choice, instead of the character" is a retarded statement.

The people who hate this game because of the story almost exclusively consists of people who have a complete and utter inability to take responsibility for their choices. If you can't accept responsibility for such tiny things as playing a video game you should never reproduce or have any sort of power over anyone because you are fundamentally incapable of doing a good job at either.
>>
>>387850054
What makes it worst is that the game begins in a flash forward after Walker already doomed everyone making the durr just turn the game off to save everyone impossible.
>>
>>387850795
Damn, that's deep.
>>
>>387850054
Why? Just because you don't like a choice doesn't mean it's not a valid one.
>>
Solid "Heart of Darkness" storyline and passable gameplay. Soundtrack was great, too. Definitely worth a play through.
>>
>>387851617

Taking responsibility for your choices implies you get a choice to begin with. You don't. Very deep.
>>
>>387851863

It's not a choice. The story is still written even if you don't play it. It's like saying "Don't watch Star Trek TNG if you don't want Tasha Yar to die".
>>
>>387851927
Sometimes you don't have a choice, but you still have to suffer the consequences. Ask any middle manager or low ranking military officer.
>>
>>387851927
You do though.
>>387852070
The story is still written but you never chose to do bad things in a video game. Just because you don't like a choice does not mean it isn't a valid one.
>>
This game is just a videogame version of Apocalypse Now which is just a movie version of heart of darkness
>>
>>387844386
It's pretty bad, but at least it tried to be different, sort of.
>>
It's hot garbage but because of muh selfaware story, /v/ thinks it's good. My God, read a fucking book.
>>
Press X to pay respects.

You are now a bastard for paying respect.

I liked it. Thanks for your attention and I hope you have a good day.
>>
>>387844386
It was great, and it positively showed that video games can be used to adapt classics almost on the same level as movies.

I'm pretty sure /v/ as a whole loves this game.

So much that I even played it . And it was a solid time.

>>387844386
I paid like ten bucks for it and was entertained for a whole aftenoon, was satisfied

>it was all a dream

fuck this game, i really wanted to know what happened
>>
>>387851927
You do have a choice, you bought a fucking shooter game under the pretense "I'm going to kill lots of people."
>>
>>387853889
Not all of it. What did you want to know?
>>
>>387854050
was it really just apocalypse now and crazy fuck commander and his drones? I had the ending where he shoots himself instead of the mirror
>>
>>387854224
Konard and the 33rd were real. They did disobey their orders and become rogues in order to "save" the people.

every spec ops thread:
>a modern adaptation of apocalypse now/heart of darkness that directly challenges the ideas of moral absolutism and the generalisation of "good" and "bad" warfare commonly found in FPS games and in life itself
>dude just don't play the game its all your fault do you feel lile a hero yet lel pretentious garbage into the trash it goes
>>
>>387844386
One of my favorites. Just something about it... ill always remember it
>>
>The Player can open fire on the Soldiers using their normal weapons, but they are severely outnumbered. The Player will eventually run out of ammo and be overcome. Is that necessarily fair? No. But it's not until you've used the mortar and seen the consequences of your actions that you start to wonder, "Could I have done something different?" And the answer is no. It was your only real option. To which you might say, "That’s not fair." And I’d say, "You’re right."
>That’s a real emotional response and I can guarantee it’s exactly what Walker is feeling in that moment.
