I felt like there was nothing wrong with Pascal's village, the machines in that village really were trying to live normal peaceful lives. They educated the children, and the adults had kids/families. They even had the classic nuclear family with a husband and wife role. All the machines even spoke normally, and acted like humans. In a way Pascal's village was the closest thing in the game to machines living peaceful together and acting like a human society.

Really fucking sad when Pascal's village is destroyed and Pascal's memory is wiped and you just find her standing in the ruins of her village selling machine parts to get cash. The thing that pissed me off about this fight was the amount of corpses scattered around him making it hard to dodge properly half the time. Holy fuck this is the first time I have ever seen so many dead players in one spot, easily around 100 in the general area.
