There were some anime demos I tried back on the DK2 but I haven't seen any updated to the CV1 yet. If you got your rift new, you should have Robo Recall for free. That game is a blast. House of a Dying Sun is good too.

If you like racing sims, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars work very well on the Rift. Looking forward to PCars2 next month and am hoping that Forza 7 somehow has rift support (but I doubt it).

Strangely enough though, the art apps like Medium and Tilt Brush are also pretty neat. Quill looks cool too but it runs like shit on my machine for some reason.

>>
>>387841657
Best game I've played so far is Robot Recall, and it's fucking free.
Sairento is similar, but can be REALLY disorienting until you get used to it, if ever.
Space Pirate Trainer is kind of a simpler take on the previous concept, might be somewhat amusing played in groups taking turns and competing among each other, I don't have any friends so I wouldn't know.
Elite: Dangerous can be good at times if you're into sims, and even better if you also have a stick, in any of those cases House of the Dying Sun is great too.
Rez Infinite is pretty, but VR doesn't really add much.
I also got this "Far Beyond" that's kind of an immersive rogue-lite-ish, but I had to stop because FPS stuttering issues were driving me sick as hell.
I have yet to try any Truck Sim, but I don't really want to because I'll end up getting a wheel and pedals too.
No idea about animu.

Robo Recall is fantastic.

Superhot VR is great, try to find a torrent though, it's short.

If you're into table tennis, Eleven: Table Tennis VR is really great.

Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades is one of my favorites. Realistic firearm simulator. Downside is that there's nothing really interesting to shoot and the developer is completely against shooting people and soft targets.

Rez Infinite is my new favorite title to play now, the 3D implementation is a bit weak though, seems like it's a sphere around you that has the game projected onto it.

Dirt Rally is a great time, even with a controller.

I haven't tried SportsBar VR in a long time, but it was pretty polished last I tried if you're into pool.

The Lab from Valve is pretty great and free too.

I would avoid buying VorpX, it's trash.

Job Simulator and that Rick and Morty VR game are both not worth it.
>>
>>387844457
Oh forgot to mention that Raw Data is pretty amazing. Probably the first VR game I tried that had really fantastic graphics.
>>
OP here,

Its so depressing games companies still havent bothered making a serious effort with VR.

There's not going to be any kind of blockbuster VR game until there's enough hardware out there.
I think adapting Skyrim and Fallout to VR are going to be big steps forward even if you don't like the games.

I've had mine about half a year now and I'm on cloud-nine atm.
Desktop VR is Win7 compatable again
Galgun VR is a thing that exists
Rez came to PC so I don't have to get a fucking sony hmd.
Gorn Seems to get constant updates
Dolphin VR lets you play fucking gamecube games in VR

VR Kanojo
>>
>>387848952
I guess it has a lot to do with what you are looking for- is it dedicated VR experiences or games that can use the headsets as an enhancement. Personally, I bought my Rift for the latter. I play a lot of racing sims and flight sims and they are a lot more immersive with VR and I can play them for hours straight.

Dedicated experiences, on the other hand, I think are going to be limited to short arcade type games or tech demos for a good long while. To go much further, you really need VR to allow people to move around with the headset and that's not going to get widespread implementation any time soon. Most people don't have entire rooms in their house that they can dedicate as a holodeck.

On the other hand, I think productivity applications like Tilt Brush or Medium are taking thinks to another level.
>>
the HTC Vibe just got a price cut, which one is better /v/?
>>
>>387848952
if theres incentive to make money off VR then the market will go there

but there just isnt, people arent interested, the price is too high, movement is too restricted, etc
>>
>>387844074
honey select head to /h/ and look for pastebin, just got mine over the weekend already got the porn station up and running
>>
>>387852853
My preference is the Rift. It just won in so many categories for me- better seated experience (no need for full-room VR), lighter, less screen door, better controllers, way cheaper (even after Vive's price cut), async timewarp superior to Vive's re-projection... free apps.

And I'm not sure if the Vive can access the games on Oculus' store.
>>
>tfw go blind soon because stared at solar eclipse
What VR games should i buy RIGHT NOW? Money isn't an issue
>>
>>387853363

Vive can play almost any Oculus gave via ReVive but Oculus typically can't play Vive only games.
>>
>>387852853

I'd recommend the Rift plus a third camera for 360 degree tracking unless you have a lot of space to take advantage of roomscale, in which case I'd splurge on the Vive.
>>
>>387853587
Are there Vive only games? I have yet to see any. Even Valve's stuff works seamlessly on the Rift.
>>
>>387847950
Just get the HS VR mod. The native VR is the shittiest thing I've seen from VR, but the mod is fucking great and you don't need the first person mod because it already handles that.
>>
>>387853587
There are no vive only games.. steamVR emulates vive controllers

Nothing because you just bought an expensive tech demo machine.
>>
Just got mine a week ago today.

Robo Recall is a great, and free, game that comes with Rift.

Superhot VR is short and kind of expensive but it has tonnes of replay value with speedrunning, endless, dont die, and just the base game. I would say its worth it.

Killing Floor Incursion is a game I really like but if you aren't a fan of the original games you might not like it. Haven't beat the game yet so that might change.

Arizona Sunshine is expensive and would just be an average zombie game if it weren't on vr. Try and find a torrent if you want to play it. Background scenery is great tho.

Rec room is a bit retarded but its a nice intro game, fun to play, and free.

Mission ISS and Disney VR gave me motion sickness for hours.

Bigscreen is good for relaxing and watching TV and such in VR.

Ive only had it for a week but those are my opinions on things I have played so far.
>>
Lone Echo was really cool but it didn't feel like much of a video game at all. It could have had some fucking puzzles at the very least. I hope they make a proper singleplayer game out of what they have someday.
>>
VR porn is good for about the first two faps but then it's just better to look at your monitor. No porn maker seems to realize that most people are using this in their seats. Also the best part of VR Kanojo wasn't even the fucking but just watching her bounce around. The fucking isn't that great because you just watch a girl go up and down on a virtual dick while you stroke yourself which breaks a lot of the immersion. I suppose if you had a device that would let you synch up an onahole with what's happening on screen then it'd be good, but that's just more equipment, and more pathetic too.
>>
>>387856072
>Mission ISS.
This was actually the first thing I played on my CV1 and I'm really surprised it didn't make me ill. I played it standing too.

There were a lot of demos in the DK2 that made me sick but so far, the closest I've come is the Apollo 11 Experience where you are able to walk around on the moon.
>>
learn to get over motion sickness if you get it. vr games are 10000% better with free locomotion, you just have to be able to handle it

mod doom 3 bfg edition for vr

also watch out for the half life series vr mod coming out. i played hl2 + eps on my dk2 back in the day when that shit worked and it was amazing
>>
The social aspect of VR is unmatched.
When someone is in your face it's like they're really there, much tougher to act like an internet tough guy when everyone can see you're 5'5''.
>Tfw 6'1''
>>
should i get one of these or spend more on the vive?
>>
>>387859053

The VR ports of Serious Sam are pretty great, too.
>>
Robo Recall
The Climb
Lone Echo

As for the adult stuff, Virt-A-Mate looks promising. There's a free demo out.

Rift is better IMO, regardless of price.
>>
OP here, just finished kanojo.

honestly speaking, do you guys really enjoy the game?

I found it quite fucking weird and disturbing at moments.

>tl;dr i came
>>
>>387859304
I think Rift is more for less the money. Oculus is spending lots to fund games.
>>
>>387861290
No. I played HS in VR and tried Kanojo after checking out an /h/ thread that had several people in it saying "VR Konojo is the best, all the other ones are shit in comparison", and I have to disagree with that 100%. Kanojo has some fairly unique aspects, but none of them stick out half as much as the fact that there's no camera control.

Want to be immersed? You have to find a way to position your head at the right level, and unless you have a chair that's the exact height of the bed, too bad. On your knees is too low and standing up is too high. Other games let you move the camera so you can view shit from the floor without having to actually get down on your fucking floor.

I thought the Rift was locked down hard by Facebook?
>>
>>387862613
What do you mean, like locked down how? You don't need a facebook account and you can use Oculus Home or Steam. All games from steam and home work with the Rift.
>>
>>387863004
This. You just need to enable 3rd party apps in the settings and you can run anything.
