Basically, people begged Relic to make Dawn of War 1 again. So they did that, but made it ofr the modern age because RTS doesn't sell. People memed that it was 'totally a MOBA' when it wasn't. In the end, people reee'd that it wasn't what they wanted. When in fact, it was exactly what they wanted.

Idunno. They also misunderstood the core audience a lot, the most vocal of which care a great deal about the lore authenticity so the aesthetic wasn't very popular.

Free and powerful heroes was pretty bullshit too and didn't have a place in the game at all. They should have been used like in dow 2, where you have to pay resources to get anything past the bottom tier or resurrect your heroes.
