I'd honestly expect Kiwami 2 at the very least. A side game would be awesome though, give them more time to fix up 6's problems and let them experiment with some other concepts through entirely different characters. Plus, they could easily turn that side game into a mainline if they felt like it.

I'm going off what someone else said a while back, he said that Nagoshi is thinking about it and recently he mentioned 3-5 on PS4 being on his mind, but right now we have no official confirmation Kiwami 2 is even going to happen not the 3-5 thing. Kiwami 2 is just an idea in the air right now and there's a decent chance since Kiwami happened.

If they make a new one with playable characters for the love of god keep it at only two. 4 and 5 just got tiresome midway through when the pacing would come to an abrupt halt in order to introduce the next character you're currently playing as an make you go through all their tutorials despite already dumping 20+ hours into the game.

Both didn't feel like a problem for me. The only time anything felt like a tutorial was when they teach you that character specific gimmick (The specials in 5, Akiyama's kicking style, Saejima's charging style which you would need to be told about to know it exists, and Tanimura's parry style) and Haruka which makes sense since she's literally a rhythm game with multiple types of play.

Yeah, it sucks a bit going back to level 1 but the entire point is to have a different playing style, a different perspective on the story, and a different growth as it goes along. The only time you feel like things are dragging are when you don't learn anything at all about anything and you're just going through the motions or when you're just wandering around like Saejima in 4 constantly avoiding cops as he acts passive aggressive to even people he helps. Haruka's bit is honestly the first time I've ever felt like the multi-character format was a slog and that was simply due to the tedium of having to recruit people constantly and visit the tranny six times to have a chance at beating T-Set.

Hell, Shinada's story is intriguing, Akiyama is always solid gold even in Dead Souls, and Saejima got way better in 5 as a character to the point you actively want to see what happens next. Tanimura is the only weak new character out of the lot but that's because his chapters are incredibly short and there's not much characterization, even his longest part is shorter than a single part in 5.
