I love talent trees, what are great games with talent trees.
Vanilla Wow & D2 & grim dawn captured talent tree choices well.

>Vanilla Wow captured talent tree choices well
nigger are you stupid?
Reminder that if the game has different trees for 'talents' and a different manner of gaining active skills then it's system is objectively shit.

Well I am in the south, so maybe. Regardless talent trees are great.
Path of Exile, but only if you're a spider.
>>387833741
Path of Exile was a fucking hyper complex talent web.
I honestly didn't like WoW talent trees for a long time because most of the talent are flat damage or crit increases.

Path of Exile

Talent trees in vanilla WoW at least were utterly pointless non-choices on the level of a telltale game.
You might have felt like you were making meaningul choices, but you weren't.

i agree that talent trees are great but vanilla wow was atrocious. you were lucky if your class had more than one viable spec, if your class even had one to begin with

>discipline back in wotlk
One of the only times discipline was fun to play, but probably only because it was so broken.

Titan quest and Final Fantasy 10.

Path of exile

I love grim dAwn, haven't played Titan quest, but I understand it's the same creators/similar gameplay. FF10 also had the right idea.
Path of exile is overwhelming and just seems like "copy X build" & play. There seems like a lack of "fuck around with builds & be slightly viable/fun"

Protip:
Every talent tree system is basically this
FFXIV especially with 4.0
>>387834963
>ff14
>talent trees
>any customization what so ever other than gearscore/ilvl stacking
>>387834963
4.0 had talents?
>>387835543
>being new
>>387834114
All of the passive bonuses are boring as fuck though.

4.0 doesn't mean Stormblood idiot
>talent tree
>le 1% chane to block
>le 1% chance to crit
>le stack 1 skill to max and another passive to max
>>387833741
>being a shadowpriest

Sure bub.

In other games, the talent tree has much fewer options and generally keeps your options some what limited ie a spellcaster chosing between fire or ice damage.
On top of that, it's usually pretty easy to respec should want feel you screwed up or just want to try something new.
In PoE, you get a ton of options, in both the skill tree and abilities, dumped on you rather quickly. It can be pretty overwhelming going in blind. However, it is still easy enough to get through the main story blind if you have some kind of a plan. It's the post game where you learn that if you aren't running a min/maxed build, you're going to get shit on. Without an easy way to reset your skill tree, this is where you're forced to grind Regrets or just start a new character.

Ultimately useless, you just pick the most viable skills, everything else doesn't matter. Literally comes down to ''choose your subclass''. It's just they made the choice appear more complicated so people like you would have entertained by it.
>>387836559
Doesn't matter if you have 10 or 10000 options if cookie cutter builds is what you end up with. Its why I think talent trees are useless unfun mechanics to everyone but the people who first theorycraft them.

League of legends
>oh boy talent trees I bet there's loads of meaningful choices in here
>half of all the talents are basic-ass damage increase or skill cooldown reduction shit
