So these two are on sale right now on the EU PSN. I never played any of them. Which one would you choose?
>>
>>387832713
dead rising for carnage and mindless fun, resident evil for riddles and horror.
Personally I'd go for dead rising all day, any day.
>>
Dead Rising. You will have more fun.

>inb4 refags come in toting their retarded ass RE1
>>
>>387832713
Dead Rising is fun but REmake is 100/10
why not get both?
>>
Dead Rising. That's coming from someone who kept trying to enjoy Resident Evil but could only get around to beating 4 however.
>>
>>387832713
classic RE is goat but i reccomend the original control scheme

dead rising is really good too but it's a different kind of game. i get bored quick
>>
Definitely Resident Evil. Lots of underage in this thread.
>>
>>387832960
>>387832713
Yeah why don't you just get both OP. They're both worth it even full price imo
>>
Dead Rising is a great game but Resident Evil is one of the greatest.
>>
Resident Evil is an all time classic. It's mandatory reading for horror games.

Get both

>>387832713
Personally I've never beaten a classic RE because its a lot of backtracking and remembering shit so I prefer Dead Rising because I'm slightly retarded. I got up until the caves with Barry in RE1 using a guide.
>>
If I truly had to choose one, I'd say Dead Rising.

I can't and wouldn't ever choose just one of these, though.
>>
>>387832713
Both games are fucking outstanding and I bet they dont even cost 30 bucks together

So get them both nigga

I considered that but I already have a huge backlog, and these two seem like they go on sale pretty often so there's no real need to grab the two right now.

And I wanted to create this thread for some reason.
>>
>>387832713
Both are great games with terrible sequels
>>
>>387832713

I couldn't get into dead rising. Why the fuck do I need to do all the cutscenes and beginning shit all over again
>>
>>387833537
hmmmm flip a coin
>>
>>387833537
Not really that often for console. I got lucky and bought DR at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks on Xbone. Yes I'm a great shame and I only did it for backwards compatibility. Wish DR2 would become backwards compatible because Case Zero is exclusive to 360 yet incompatible with the Xbone version and fuck buying games again even though I missed Dead Rising because I only played a demo then didn't like it at the time.
>>
>>387833761
I bet you'd complain about the time limit too ya fucking retard.

>doesn't just skip intro cutscene
>>
>>387833761
Use a guide to learn where all the hidden weapons are. For example there is a machine gun and orange juice in paradise plaza

You could just save the game at a separate slot after the beginning sequence so you don't have to go through it again
>>
Both if you can afford it.

It's too hard for me to pick just one. They're both incredible games.
>>
>>387832713
Both have high learning curves but Resident Evil is more forgiving
It's a question of atmosphere vs play value/fun
>>
>>387833886
I don't see why they couldn't update DR2: Case Zero and Case West and bundle them with DR2.
>>
>>387834194

I do this with the beginning of basically every Elder Scrolls game.
>>
Dead Rising was hard as fuck jesus christ. I remember getting the million zombie kill or whatever the highest was by driving through the garage for hours.
>>
>>387834194

Only problem with that is any progress or upgrades to your player you accumulate in that run only carry across if you restart entirely.
>>
>>387834395
They made it easier for casuals in the sequels, just like RE.
>>
>>387834335

Microsoft owns them and so Capcom can't be arsed to update them only for one userbase.
>>
>>387834578
The retard can't just press one button to skip cutscenes so you think he's going to care about skills and unlockables carrying over?
>>
OP here, I'll go with RE just because it's the older of the two and I'm a sucker for late 90's / early 2000's atmospheric games and pre-rendered backgrounds. I'll grab DR next time I see it on sale (PSN or Steam, I don't really care)
>>
>>387834395
50k~ I think and yeah, is there any other way than doing it that way? I can't think of one.
>>
>>387835320
Probably not. And boy rescuing all the survivors was rage inducing. I think I managed it once. Could one do the story and rescue all people?
>>
>>387835493
I think rich evans from redlettermedia did that once on a stream, also starting from level 1 in one run.

Dude loves his dead rising.
>>
>>387832713
I think REmake is a much tighter game. That said both are fantastic.
>>
>>387834652
see that's what the charm in it was, it felt like a classic ps1 era game but modernized. Not many games can capture that.
>>
>>387835709
Dark Souls?
>>
>>387835216
after you beat REmake go emulate RE2 and RE3
>>
>>387835493
I almost did it but realized I fucked up because there's a survivor hiding in a closet on the first day I have never seen. Killed my optimism because Barnaby, Jessie, and Brad dies making it 49 because I literally never seen that fucker in a single playthrough had to get the b ending instead.
>>
>>387835918
nice spoilers dickhead
>>
>>387835787
Weren't Capcom going to re-make RE2 and RE3 but changed gears?

I will, just thought about that a few minutes back.
>>
>>387834009

sounds like you're trying to justify a shitty feature. It's not the time limit I have a problem with it's literally starting for square one every time if I want to keep my stats

Resident Evil Remake is a literal pinnacle of the series AND survival-horror genre, alongside with Silent Hills 1-2. Such a brilliant, highly replayable game, and a great gateway to RE saga.

DR is much more comicbook-like Zombie slasher / survival sandbox thing. Fun in many ways, especially if you liked the Dawn Of The Dead film(s).

>>387833286
>Personally I've never beaten a classic RE because its a lot of backtracking
>prefers a game that's ALL about backtracking
>>
>>387835785
true, however deadrising is the grandfather of action rpgs when you look at souls, borne , and nier automatta.

REmake 2 is still on its way, but don't expect to hear about it for another year or two.

>>387836197
Remember to play both characters multiple times. Especially RE1 has lots of variation to things depending on who you play as and HOW, while RE2 has the whole A/B scenario variants for both MCs. RE3 is practically just one scenario, but has lots of randomized elements + some more or less clear "choices" that can affect the following scenes and ending.
>>
>>387836052
You're 11 years too late.

>>387836445
Elaborate on that because you're just losing story progress and survivors so it's just a matter of getting gud

The real question is which Dead rising do you get.
1, 2 or off the record.
I already own off the record but it isn't installed.
>>
>>387837607
HE AIN'T MAH BOI
>>
>>387832713
