Relic consistently shits their pants when it comes to creating and maintaining a fun multiplayer environment. I started playing their games with Dark Crusade and each release since was fucked up in some way.
They make good single player "experiences", but Age of Empires fans will probably want their game to be properly supported and patched too. Even though those things are normal to any competent developer nowadays, Relic are special. Oh, so very special.

They don't make good games anymore. Also they were always shit at multiplayer balance and community management, but those issues fucking skyrocketed with DoW3's release, ultimately destroying it's last hope of attracting a new community (since Relic did everything in their power to disappoint the old community before the game even launched).
They are just highly incompetent nowadays. They aren't evil or anything, just really bad at their jobs.

my rts experience is limited to single player and custom maps, i don't play competitive, i hate mobs, and i've probably played rts for longer than you've been alive and more hours than you've played games in your entire life. i played starcraft every single day in junior high and high school in the 2000s (so for six years) and i still play it every now and then today. that's only one rts, too; i nearly 100% wings of liberty and played the other two expansions a decent amount too

Cool announcement, shame all we know about the game so far is Win10 and Relic (and neither of those fill you with hope) but I'll wait til we know more about the game before start with the shitposting.
