but I did just finish infinite warfare's campaign a couple days ago after pirating it, and I'll go ahead and say it: IW has the best campaign hands down of the entire series. never before has a fucking robot vidya character made me laugh out loud, let alone in a fucking CoD game.

I actually felt emotion when Ethan and Reyes were floating over Titan, with the subtle inflections in Ethan's voice and the tension of the moment. It would have been a fucking Oscar worthy moment if the devs followed through and actually killed off Reyes to give the player a feeling of consequence and impact.

blops 1 is my favorite of that trilogy, only because I vastly preferred the cold war setting vs the futuristic LA setting, but I did appreciate them wrapping up a lot of story points in blops 2.

infinite warfare did the futuristic setting right, it still felt grounded and gritty with just enough sci fi in the right spots.

There were plenty of interesting concepts in the story, but there was just a lot going on and I think that even though it's impressive how the devs weaved together such a mind boggling story that makes sense(ish), a truly good story won't rely on players recording a loading screen to play it forward frame by frame to get the true plaintext version of the actual storyline.
