He could keep the whole Jockeys are biological engineers stuff. It made perfect sense since Alien is considered the perfect killing machine. But the problem is the goo. And the whole different derelicts in diferent planets, etc..
You could make story about Jockeys trying to reach perfection, making the Alien, venerating it and boom, dead. Instead we got a bunch of loopholes that didn't need to be.

Question. Does Alien Isolation really need a sequel? Amanda Ripley survived the horrors of Sevastopol and was rescued. She married, and died in her late 60s. And if SEGA starts pumping out sequels then the game run the risk of suffering the same disease that's been plaguing the Alien franchise.
