Anyone else here play this?

Despite being really simple and repetitive, it's really addicting, and lots of fun. I thought it being a movie game would make it automatically shit, but I'm very pleasantly surprised. I wish they'd make a sequel that fleshed out the game though. It could be a 10/10 if they did.

its one of the only few bamham ripoffs that are actually good. also quite enjoyed the story.

Played it a lot when it came out and had a lot of fun. I mainly bought it to show that there's interest in Mad Max games but I don't think it perfomed very well sales wise.

It definitely gave me the Mad Max feel I craved after watching the movie but it could be been so much more.
>>
>>387771251
It feels like there's so much potential with this game.

Like, if they added a lot more to the world instead of the same quests, more enemies, more customizations, more vehicles (where are the motorcycles?), etc. It seems like a really good foundation for a great game. It just needs more of everything.
>>
>>387771370
Yeah. If it was as easy to mod as a TES/Fallout with an as active modding community I'd finally give in to buy a new PC and play nothing else for the rest of my life.

Playing around with photo mode is so fucking fun when doing shit like this.
Or capturing one of those buzzard cars that throws mines. Or the flamethrower cars.

I keep forgetting to take pictures and record videos when cool shit happens. It's actually surprising how often awesome things happen in this game.
>>

I've always been a sucker for games that have great atmosphere. They probably could've taken more risks gameplay wise but overal I'd say it was definitely worth buying which is more than a large majority of games that come out now

Okay, so does Chumbucket actually get triggered by Max entering the car from the wrong side constantly?

As a Burger, I just naturally enter the car from the left every time, and just now, Chum said something like, "How can you be a Saint and not know where the wheel is? This must be a test" or something.

Played quite a lot of it till I reached the dude who worships fire but I got burned out. I don't even remember what the fuck is happening in the plot by now.

The plot hardly matters because it's barely there. It's just Max needs parts, he finds some strongholder leader and does some tasks to get parts. Then he moves on to new area with new parts. Repeat.

one of the only games where you can just wander for a while without being interrupted.
that being said, i wish the devs kept their promise of making the big nothing infinite.

I've got it on PS4. Easily one of my most favorite games for it. I was really impressed with the world, but when I did the first convoy, thereafter it was also consistently a ton of fun as well.
>>
>>387770804
I like it
Tjey mist have had a few Australians on the team because there are a lot of cultural references that could have eaily been over looked

One jarring fuck up was saying 'dinky di' as Dinky Dee
Should be pronounced Dinki Die

And the staering wheel being on the right had side was a good detail too
>>
It's pretty fun. I got it for about $7.50 during the Summer Sale, and I put 19 hours in so far. Definitely worth the price

You can finally talk about MM without MGS5 niggers shitting up the thread.
God release time was a rough month for MM threads.

Did anyone ever find anything neat out beyond the map border? I never really understood how it was supposed to work, they hinted that there was stuff out there you could find, but every time I tried I just died in a few moments and didn't find shit.

Though, I did find the massive unmarked buzzard compound at the map's end. That place was spooky as hell, it felt like cut content that you could at least still explore.
>>
>>387770804
pretty good
>>
It's far better than most "movie" games but the AWFUL repetition, the shitty movement outside vehicles, the really dull fist fighting, and the highly repetitive missions really killed the buzz for me.

Beautiful grafix I'll give it that, and the vehicle controlled great.

A ton of fun, game would be a lot better if you had every single upgrade unlocked at the start and just had to find scrap or some shit for them instead of story progression unlocks, you literally don't get a badass speedmachine until the end and you don't get to use it all that much.

I binge watched Mad Max, The Road Warrior, Beyond Thunderdome, then Fury Road before I played it (even though the game was a prequel to Fury Road) and I had so much fun. The skybox and deserts are beautiful. Scarfing down maggots, dog food, and snapping necks to save bullets. Just got extremely repetitive towards the end but I still enjoyed many of the characters
>>
>>387784615
Yeah it did catch the feel pretty well.
I wish there were more survival elemnts though. Water, food and guzzoline wete plenty.
An aRPG with a custom character and equipable weapons/armor made from scrap with join able factions, trading anda shit ton of vehicle custimation in the MadMax world would be my wet dream.

I enjoyed it more than I was expecting as well.
However it does have bad case Ubisoft open world syndrome, meaning that many of the optional objectives quickly get boring so you're better off skipping them. Also wish the vehicle combat could've been a bit more refined as it gets somewhat annoying to deal with enemies with a gorillion armor while you only need to get slightly nudged twice before you're about to explode.
>>
>>387770804
Too bad the car combat was garbage. Just harpoon everything. Where is my fist fights ontop of a car doing 90mph?
>>
>>387788278
From all things car combat was best
You didn't have to abuse the harpoon
>>
>>387770804
dial down the busywork by 60% and fill the game with actual side quest and you got a good game going. Maybe flesh out the main quest a little too. The most annoying thing was that it got super easy once you upgrade max or the strongholds. Playing the game kind of breaks it towards the end or even halfway through. water, ammo and gas should have been scarce throughout the game.
>>
>>387771370
the worst thing about this game is that you can see how much effort they put into designing the world. It looks like they spent so much time into that that they forgot to also do quests and write scenes for the NPC's you interact with. Everything besides the world and the car physics feels tagged on.

it was really fun to just go about to camps and beat the shit out of bandits. The game looked amazing and ran like a dream. But as everyone else said it's gets repetitive and it seems like a lot of wasted potential. I was pretty disappointed that the 4 camp bosses were the same fight each time.

Bought for 5 dollars and started playing yesterday. It's a really fucking fun game. I appreciate the little things like being able to carry stuff while climbing ladders or using zip-line. Also looting boxes don't make you watch a long ass animation like in farcry or assassin's creed so it's not cancer. Combat feels heavy and punches are pretty satisfying. I think it lacked a radio but fixed it by just listening to podcasts in the background. Most of the time you're out in the open, exploring anyways so you don't really miss a really important dialogue or anything.

Runs at 70+ at all times on high settings with my 1050ti.

8/10 game.

>>
>>387777794
Another major jarring fuck up was all the American accents
>>
It's a fun game, its story is complimented by the sandbox rather than the other way around. So it's kind of less enjoyable to fuck around with outside of that, which cuts into its replay value.
>>
>>387770804
I'm with you Anon. I felt the same way. Avoided it because of movie tie in. Repetitive, yes, but so fun. Love my Magnum Opus because I built it. Car choices between light-and-fast or armor-and-slow.
Just build MM2 on what they have now and it will be all win.

That was a fucking great moment. Specially the first time. Kill everyone, already setting my sights on the guy and he just starts talking normally.

>more customizations
It was a pretty fun game but yeah, this was my primary complaint. Customizing the Magnum Opus was cool at first but you quickly realize that the customizations were really just linear progression instead of actually personalizing the vehicle. I know some of the modifications were necessary for progression like the grappling hook but when it came to shit like the armor, spikes, tires, engine, etc, everything was just a straight up upgrade to the previous part. There weren't any choices to really make to have the vehicle suit your own playstyle or anything like that and in the end, the only thing you really had a say in was the body and paint job. Still, it was a pretty decent Bahman combat clone and the worldbuilding was fantastic. It did an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the films.

It's a good game that falls a bit too hard on the Ubisoft formula. They managed to capture the mood of Mad Max really well, liked the story, Chumbucket was surprisingly fun to hang around, but it needed more content.
I don't want to say this was just a movie tie-in since there's an obvious effort put into this, but it stumbles when you start to see the pattern early on.
Wish they'd make a sequel or something. I just want more of this.

I dropped it halfway through, but enjoyed the time I did spend with it. Upgrades should have been more meaningful and spread out better, instead of being able to 90% max out your car after clearing little more than the the first main area

This game is prime material for an expansion. Doof Warrior type truck with a war crier up front, giving a resistance and damage boost or something.

We can only hope.
I have no idea how it sold but just in case I bought a copy on PS4 too.
Wish they dropped DENUOVO, game would do good with modding community but game is too old for that now.
>>
>>387799127
Doubt it, unfortunately. If anything, I won't be surprised if in a couple of years, they won't even be legally allowed to sell it anymore because of licensing issues.
Shame too. They laid the groundwork for an amazing game. As it is it's good but you have to be in a particular mindset to enjoy.

As a long time mad max fan, I enjoyed the game heavily. I enjoyed how it tied into the movies, I enjoyed the comic that semi tied it in as well.

Overall, a solid 9/10 if your a max fan, 7.5 if your not.
took me like 20m to get this screenshot perfect

this game had one of the best atmospheres and vehicular combat I've experienced in years. the balance of color, the contrast, every picture you take in this game has artistic value because of how well they managed lighting in every area.

better car combat than any car combat game so far.

The game is way much better without any HUDs. I wish there's a proper way to do it.

I personally really liked exploring the wasteland. It was cool seeing the different kinds of little hideouts that you can scavenge. I know most people have ass creed open world fatigue but I felt that having the game be car-based and being in a fantasy setting actually made it feel less tedious than far cry or ass creed or the like. It was pretty relaxing just cruising the wasteland, investigating whatever pops up and having crazy car battles.

If you didn't play this in the background while participating in the car fights then you don't know SHIT about videogames

>>
I remember liking it for a bit then dropping it halfway through when I realized how little budget it had. Also that dumb fucking "You need to use this specific car setup to continue" was dumb. Really I can't participate in this race because my car is too upgraded and not fucking purple? I also remember the devs lying about a randomized mission system in the map borders just before launch.

But the game was still fun as fuck, just disappointing in what it could have been.

I cannot believe people are defending this boring ass game. I bought it for dirt cheap and i still felt ripped off and refunded. Its by the numbers open world shit.

Even as a huge fan of the movies i couldn't help but get bored almost instantly.
