Is pop'n any fun, compared to other bemani games?
As someone who's never played it, it seems like it wouldn't be as fun as IIDX or SDVX that has some form of interesting gimmick, rather than just buttons.

EBA's notes are fun and the comic/story presentation is what really helps sell the game.

A majority of Osu's shit is just slapping as many notes on screen as possible.

if you like other bemani games you'll probably like pop'n, I personally play it cause I prefer its music selection and I can't stand the audio panning stuff that SDVX does. the spacing of the buttons give it a very different feeling too, and some harder songs will actually make you work up a sweat.

Pop'n is really cool

Just the change in playstyle that the huge controller offers is really fun.
Plus, one of the things that I like the most in rhythm games is learning/adapting/mastering different playstayles and controllers, so there's that.
