keep the USB adapter from your g430, buy a new pair of headphones without a microphone, buy a 20 dollar modular clip on mic, it will last a lot longer, be cheaper and work out better overall.
my g430 is getting pretty old now, does anybody know any similar ones with the same large-size ear-cups? All the other headphones I've used have had too small cups and they crush my ears after a while. I specifically had to get these ones so I could wear them for 6+ hours without hurting my ears.
I use these, I think they're great

Steelseries Arctis 5
Most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever used, great mic and sound quality, only $100

i second this

You might wanna check out some good entry-level Audio Technicas, Sennheisers, or Beyerdynamics.
the real question is, what headsets are good/comfy for people who wear glasses?
>>387761110
Outta luck, use earbuds or clip-ons
>>387761110
I'd recommend these, I wear glasses and honestly can't feel any discomfort when I have these on

I use Arctis steelseries 3, works pretty well, but it doesn't have the best mic setup, so you're better off getting the more expensive ones if you have money to throw at things.Otherwise follow >>387759918

Sennheiser PC 310 Gaming Headset has served me pretty well, most of the weight rests at the top of your head instead of clamping on your ears. I'll feel some mild discomfort on the microphone side after about 4 hours unfortunately.

do DAC/AMPs work on consoles

Phillips Fidelio X2 with a v-moda mic

Is the Sennheiser GSP 300 any good?

>That headset
I have it, don't buy it. It's shitty as all fuck, and most voice programs will pick it up very poorly. You'll either be scratchy/staticy, or you'll just randomly cut in and out. The earphones are fine, and they block sound really nicely when worn, but that's it. 7/10 headphones, -10/10 mic.
Dt880s with shiit modi/midi stack with antlion modmic. 3 years running with zero issues. Highly recommend

Magni/modi*
Get some good big boy headphones with a modmic 4.0 attached to it. Don't bother with gamer crap, it's just cheap chink shit with LEDs all over it to appeal to users on /v/
Do not buy a gaming headset.
Get a decent midrange headset, like a pair of Senheiser. Then buy an antlion modmic for it. I guarantee you will get better design + quality for your money.

go to /hpg/ on /g/ and check out some of their suggestions and get a desk mic or modmic with it
i use the logitech g933. it sounds excellent to me but i never used professional headphones before to compare. the 7.1 virtual surround sound really does work especially in first person shooters. the audio is great. everything is simple to use and just works.
except when it doesn't.
this thing is full of software bugs. repeating firmware updates, incompatibilities with windows, and faulty charging behavior to name the issues i know of.

That'd be fine if all the brands you recommended were affordable.
I don't care about sound so much I'll pay 500 just for fucking headphones. Tired of audiophiles acting like everyone else is like them.

Philips sph9500 plus v-moda mic then
