Generation's 2D level design at the very least has exploration via alternate paths and isn't as fucking boxy as Colors.

colors is 80% 2D and half of that 20% 3D are completely flat planes that are basically just transition segments between 2D sections, it's arguably disingenuous to call colors a 3D game

i liked the music, and that's about it.

Did anyone bother to get Super Sonic? He looked cool to play as, but getting all the Red Rings AND doing those unfun bonus levels was a massive chore.

Colours is the most "complete" 3D Sonic, but IMO it doesn't have the highs of Generations. When Generations gets it right, it fucking gets it right.

Problem is, Generations is bogged down with the bafflingly bad 2D sections, horrible mini games, and shit bosses. Same with Unleashed.

Feels like if you took the 3D levels from Generations, Unleashed and all of Colours, you could have, genuinely, the best Sonic game ever.

But nah. Every game was made with a fucking monkey's paw.
