If you have the key, yeah. You can't decrypt a hash if you don't, it would take literally decades with the best current super computers to brute force most hashes used by companies today.

The key typically isn't stored in the database in plain text either, that's either hardcoded in some software they have or somewhere else. So leaking hashed usernames and passwords isn't really that scary. It's bad, don't get me wrong, but your information is probably safe still.

Hashing schemes are different from encryption schemes. Encryption (e.g. DES, AES) is a reversible operation with the key.

Hashes have no 'keys' as such (though they do have 'salts') and are designed to be a one way transformation where you can check that a value matches without needing to reverse the stored data (by hashing the input and comparing it to the stores hash).

Which is not to say that you can't brute force a set of hashes, Juat that they're not designed to be unhashed.
